Food Security and Essential Assistance
Food insecurity can affect anyone. Families who struggle to access enough nutritious food are not defined by stereotypes or personal shortcomings. Life circumstances such as the aftermath of hurricanes, medical challenges, low wages, single parenthood, job loss, and other unexpected hardships can make it difficult to put healthy meals on the table.
Every family deserves compassion, dignity, and the support needed to overcome these challenges.
Backpack Program
At For Such a Time as This, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to begin the school year with confidence, dignity, and the tools needed to succeed. Our Backpack Program provides backpacks filled with essential school supplies to children from low-income and underserved communities across Puerto Rico.
Community Empowerment and Resource Center
Our goal is to restore a building that will serve as a community resource center for For Such a Time as This. This space will provide free empowerment programs, educational opportunities, community kitchen and disaster relief services, creating a lasting impact for more than 4,000 families in our community.
